AAP with India Block? AAP MP Sanjay Singh Slams Election Commission Over SIR in Bihar
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh has criticized the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Central government, labeling the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar as a “huge electoral scam.” He alleged that the ruling party was manipulating the election process and suppressing the opposition's voice in Parliament. Thus in this regard AAP appears to be talking on the same lines as Congress and India Block as they are also vocal in their criticism of ECI.
Sanjay Singh cited shocking examples. He claimed that residential certificates were being issued to dogs in Bihar and that US President Donald Trump was being made an election card. He questioned, "Is this democracy or a joke? This is a huge electoral scam, and there is no discussion in Parliament."
Rahul has also raised concerns about impartiality of EC
In a related context, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also raised concerns about the impartiality of the Election Commission. He alleged “vote theft” in Karnataka's Mahadevpura assembly constituency, claiming that the Congress was deprived of 100,250 votes. He noted that while the Congress won in many assembly constituencies, it faced an unexpected defeat only in Mahadevpura, which he argued helped the BJP secure the election.
Gandhi pointed out that a total of 6.26 lakh votes were cast in the Lok Sabha, with the BJP winning 658,915 votes by a margin of 32,707. In contrast, in Mahadevpura, the Congress received 115,586 votes while the BJP garnered 229,632 votes. He emphasized that the Congress won in all the assemblies except this one, which he claimed was crucial for the BJP's victory.
Furthermore, Rahul Gandhi outlined five methods of alleged vote theft: duplicate voters, fake and invalid addresses, hundreds of voters registered at one address, invalid photographs, and misuse of Form 6. He stated that many addresses were found where no one actually lived, yet hundreds of votes were registered from those locations.
