Bihar Assembly elections 2025: CM Nitish Kumar's big announcement before polls; can he turn the tables on the Opposition

Before the Bihar Assembly elections 2025, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has made a big announcement for women. Nitish government will give financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to a woman of every family before the elections. This amount will be transferred to the accounts in September 2025. The state government has started the Chief Minister Mahila Rojgar Yojana. This scheme has got approval from the Nitish Cabinet.

Under this scheme, women will be given financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh for employment. Women will be given Rs 10,000 as the first installment. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself gave this information by tweeting recently.

He said, 'We have worked extensively for women empowerment since the formation of the government in November 2005. Many important steps have been taken to make women empowered and self-reliant. Now women are not only contributing to the progress of Bihar with their hard work but they are also strengthening the economic condition of their families. Taking this mission forward, we have now taken an important and unprecedented decision in the interest of women, which will have positive far-reaching results." 

Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana approved 

Nitish said that in the cabinet meeting held recently, a new scheme 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana' was approved for women's employment. The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to a woman from all the families of the state to start employment of their choice. 

Women may get Rs 10 thousand before announcement of poll dates

For this, the process of receiving applications from interested women will be started soon. It is likely that before the dates of the assembly elections are announced, 10 thousand rupees each will also be transferred to the accounts of women. 

Bank transfer will start in Sep

CM Nitish Kumar said that bank transfer will be started in the month of September. The responsibility of this entire process will be assigned to the Rural Development Department. If needed, the help of the Urban Development and Housing Department will also be taken. 

Assessment will be done after 6 months

CM Nitish said in his post that more assistance will be given later under the Chief Minister Mahila Rojgar Yojana. Assessment will be made after 6 months of women starting employment. The amount of up to Rs 2 lakh can be given as per the requirement. 

Haat Bazaars will be developed

However, detailed information about the scheme is not yet available. The Chief Minister also announced to develop Haat Bazaar for the sale of women's products from villages to cities.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
