Cricket Asia Cup 2025: Why the start time of the matches changed?
The start time of the matches for the Cricket Asia Cup 2025 has been changed. According to Indian time, the matches for this season will now start at 8 PM instead of 7:30 PM.
This decision has been made in light of the very hot conditions in the UAE. The Asia Cup will commence in the UAE on September 9. The final match of this tournament will be played on September 28. This tournament will be held in T20 format this time. India has been given the hosting rights for the Asia Cup 2025; however, due to strained relations between India and Pakistan, it will be played at a neutral venue.
Temp is expected to reach 40 degrees during day
When the tournament will be played in UAE in September. At that time the temperature is expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius during the day and remain so till late evening. To avoid playing in such scorching heat, the cricket boards had requested to extend the time of the matches a little. This request was made to the broadcasters and they approved the changes.
India, Pakistan, Oman and UAE in same group
India, Pakistan, Oman and UAE have been placed in the same group. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Hong Kong are in Group B. All the teams in the group will play one match each against each other. India will face UAE on 10 September, Pakistan on 14 September and Oman on 19 September.
If India and Pakistan make it to the Super-4 stage, then both the teams will face each other once again on 21 September. The final of the tournament will be played on 28 September. If India and Pakistan top the Super-4 stage, then there can be a third match between the two in the tournament.
