Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: Will Chirag Paswan's LJP Secure Desired Number of Seats?
Bihar Politics: The countdown for Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 has started. All political parties have intensified their strategy for the elections to be held in October-November. On one hand, the entire opposition including Congress-RJD is busy creating an atmosphere in their support by taking out 'Voter Adhikar Yatra', while on the other hand, the hustle and bustle regarding seat sharing in NDA i.e. National Democratic Alliance is at its peak.
Chirag Paswan's LJP may suffer the biggest loss
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's frequent visits to Bihar and the activism of NDA leaders indicate that BJP and its allies are very serious about the electoral battle. But the issue of seat sharing is still complicated and sources say that Chirag Paswan's LJP (Ram Vilas) may suffer the biggest loss.
According to sources, the most important partnership in NDA is to be decided between BJP and JDU. Both the parties can contest almost equal number of seats in the 243-member assembly. There is talk that BJP and JDU can get 100 to 105 seats. According to this, the entire fight of the alliance will be on the shoulders of these two parties.
Chirag demands 40 seats
The biggest challenge is regarding LJP (Ram Vilas). Chirag Paswan's party is demanding to contest on 40 seats. Whereas BJP leaders say that giving 40 seats to LJP can spoil the mathematics of the alliance, because other allies like Manjhi and Upendra Kushwaha will also have to be given space. In such a situation, Chirag Paswan will get only half of his demand i.e. about 20 seats.
JDU not ready to accept less seats than BJP
At the same time, there is news that JDU is not ready to accept less seats than BJP. The party says that the election is being fought under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the entire campaign is focused on bringing him back to power. In such a situation, their seats being less than BJP will not be acceptable in any way.
