Political Stir in Karnataka as Congress MLA Ranganath Also Sings RSS Prayer Song After DK Shivakumar
Karnataka News: A major stir has emerged in Karnataka politics recently, marking an unprecedented event. Following Congress leader and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's rendition of an RSS prayer song, Congress MLA HD Ranganath has also sung lines from the same song, intensifying the political discourse. Ranganath praised the song and criticized the BJP for allegedly dividing people along religious lines.
While speaking to media representatives in Kunigal, Tumkuru, Ranganath sang the opening lines of the RSS prayer song Namaste Sada Vatsale Matrubhume. He expressed his admiration for the song and slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Nothing objectionable: Ranganath
Ranganath said that after Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar sang the song in the Assembly, he revisited its meaning and found nothing objectionable. He explained that the song conveys respect for one's homeland. He said, "I don't think there is anything wrong in it. Our Congress party is secular, and we never hesitate to accept the good things of others."
BJP's fundamentalist ideology fosters division
In his comments, MLA Ranganath also launched a strong attack on the BJP, claiming that the party's fundamentalist ideology fosters division among people based on caste and religion, which he firmly opposes. He questioned, "If someone sings an RSS song, what is the problem in it? I am just asking this question."
On August 21, during the monsoon session of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, DK Shivakumar surprised many by singing the RSS prayer song while discussing the Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede case. Notably, the day before his performance, he had declared himself a "born Congressman."
Political Stir in Karnataka
It is important to note that the Congress party is currently in power inKarnataka, with Siddaramaiah serving as Chief Minister. Since the formation of the Congress government, there have been ongoing speculations regarding DK Shivakumar's potential ascension to the CM position, but no changes have occurred as of yet.
