Election for the post of Vice President announced, voting will be held on this day; will I.N.D.I.A. block field a joint candidate
The Election Commission has announced the dates for the election for the post of Vice President of India.
The Election Commission has issued a notification related to this on Friday, in which information has been given from nomination to the date and time of voting.
Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned from the post of Vice President on July 21. Since then the post of Vice President is vacant.
In this resignation written to the President, Jagdeep Dhankhar had cited his health. The BJP is considering the names of Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot and Sikkim Governor Om Mathur for this post.
The BJP will try to decide the name of its candidate and convince the allies on the name instead of making any other ally the candidate for this post.

I.N.D.I.A. block may field a joint candidate
The I.N.D.I.A. alliance is preparing to field a joint candidate. According to sources, even though the NDA has a majority, the opposition believes that the contest is not completely one-sided. It should not back out from the election.
