In response, Priyanka defended Rahul, arguing that no judge should determine someone's patriotism and that he respects the army. The Congress party believes it is their duty to question the government.
BJP leaders accuse Priyanka of disrespecting the judiciary
BJP leaders, including Amit Malviya, accused Priyanka of disrespecting the judiciary. They argued that if the courts do not define patriotism, then who will? They also mentioned a past case where the court acted on its own in a similar situation and suggested it should do so again regarding Priyanka's comments.
The BJP said the Gandhi family thinks they are above the law, while Congress asserts that their leaders are being unfairly targeted. This controversy has sparked discussions about the relationship between Parliament and the judiciary, freedom of expression, and the opposition's role in India. It remains to be seen whether the Supreme Court will take further action regarding Priyanka Gandhi's statement.
