Rajasthan: 11 die including seven children in collision between pickup and truck in Dausa

Eleven people were killed and eight injured in a road accident in Rajasthan's Dausa district early Wednesday. The deceased include seven children and four women.

According to the officials, the accident took place near Bapi village on the Lalsot-Manoharpur national highway, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sainthal police station.

Police have said that all of them were travelling in a pickup van. This van collided with a parked truck.

Dausa Superintendent of Police Sagar told, "In this accident near Manoharpur, people were returning to their village in Etah, Uttar Pradesh after visiting Khatu Shyam and Salasar Balaji temple."

He said, "More than 20 people were travelling in the pickup van. The pickup van hit the truck parked on the service lane of the highway. This accident happened between 4 and 5 a.m. on Wednesday morning.''

The Superintendent of Police said that out of the eight injured, one is in critical condition. Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi Prakash Sharma said that 10 people died on the spot in this accident, while one woman died after reaching SMS Hospital. The rest of the people are undergoing treatment.
