Sanjay Raut objects to India-Pakistan cricket match in Asia Cup-2025, what he said in letter to PM Modi
Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) leader Sanjay Raut has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and opposed the decision to hold India-Pakistan cricket match in Asia Cup-2025.
Sanjay Raut has said in his letter that when 'Operation Sindoor' is going on against Pakistan and the country is still in danger from 'terrorism', then is playing cricket with Pakistan not an insult to the Indians killed and their families as well as the Army.
In his letter posted on social media, he tagged Amit Shah and BCCI besides the PM and wrote, "It is a matter of concern for the people of India that the Sports Ministry has given the green signal to the India-Pakistan match in Asia Cup. It is clear that this was not possible without the permission of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister."
He has asked many questions to the Prime Minister. He has asked, "You said that 'blood and water cannot flow together', then how can blood and cricket flow together?"
At the same time, he wrote sarcastically, "Has the US President threatened to stop trade if the match is not played with Pakistan?"
Further he wrote, "Playing cricket with Pakistan is not only an insult to the sacrifice of the soldiers, but also an insult to the sentiments of Hindutva and patriotism. These matches are going to be held in Dubai, if these matches were held in Maharashtra, Balasaheb Thackeray's Shiv Sena would have stopped them."
In Asia Cup 2025, a group match is to be held between India and Pakistan on 14 September. This match is to be played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in UAE.
