Voter Adhikar Yatra Bihar: Tejashwi Yadav's claim - We had tea with those whom the Election Commission declared dead
Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav addressed the meeting held before the start of Rahul Gandhi's 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar.
Tejashwi Yadav said, "Lohia and Lalu have been saying that the rule of votes means the rule of the underprivileged. In our Constitution, Baba Saheb Ambedkar has given everyone equal right and power to cast a vote. Whether he is a powerful person or a poor man."
Accusing the BJP, he said, "The names of many living people were deleted and it was told that they are dead. We get elected from Raghopur assembly and here many people have been declared dead, although they are alive."
Tejashwi Yadav said, "We sent those people to the Supreme Court and presented that the Election Commission is not working independently."
He claimed, "We had tea with those who were declared dead by the Election Commission. Bihar is the mother of democracy and the people of the Mahagathbandhan will not let democracy end from the mother of democracy."
Tejashwi alleged that "If the name is removed from the voter list, then the name will be removed from the pension. The name will be removed from the ration. This is a big conspiracy. We all have to protect our votes."
Key opposition leaders attend meeting
The Voter Adhikar Yatra has started from Sasaram, Bihar. A public meeting was held at Suara Airport Ground in Sasaram, attended by key opposition leaders, including Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi Yadav.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was also present on the first day of the yatra, along with leaders from left parties.
Slogans of 'Vote chor, gaddi chhod' were raised during the public meeting. After Sasaram, Rahul Gandhi will proceed to Aurangabad, where he will meet with farmers.
