10 Naxalites Killed in Encounter in Chhattisgarh's Gariyaband, Naxal commander with a bounty of Rs 1 crore also killed


Gariyaband Encounter: Security forces have carried out a major operation against Naxalites on Thursday in Chhattisgarh's Gariyaband district. Ten Naxalites have been killed in an encounter between Naxalites and security forces. The Naxalites killed also include a Naxalite with a bounty of Rs 1 crore.

The security forces conducted this operation in the forests of Shobha police station and Mainpur police station area. It is being termed as an important success for the security forces. The name of the Naxalite killed in the encounter with a bounty of Rs 1 crore has been reported as Commander Manoj alias Modem Balkrishna alias Balanna alias Ramchandra alias Rajendra alias Golconda Rajendra alias Chinni.

The security forces have killed 10 Naxalites including Central Committee (CC) member Manoj alias Balkrishna in the encounter. Raipur Range IG Amresh Mishra said, "The encounter between security forces and Naxalites is going on in Gariyaband and intermittent firing is taking place. Some Naxalites are likely to be killed."

Forces launched anti-Naxal operation in forests of Gariyaband

Security forces launched an anti-Naxal operation in the forests of Gariyaband district on Thursday morning. During this operation, an encounter with Naxalites started in the forests of Mainpur police station area. The operation involved a joint team of E-30, STF and Cobra, who surrounded the Naxalites based on information.

Among the Naxalites killed in the encounter, the name of Central Committee (CC) member Manoj alias Balakrishna is prominent. 58-year-old Balakrishna was a resident of Warangal district of Telangana and was considered a big face in the Naxalite organization. He had a reward of Rs 1 crore on his head, due to which his death is being seen as a major achievement in anti-Naxal operations.

Search operation of security forces in the forests is still going on. Gariyaband Police and SP are constantly in touch with the jawans and keeping an eye on the situation. Naxalites have suffered heavy losses in this encounter.
