UP: Lucknow Bus Accident: Bus fell off bridge trying to avoid tanker, five dead, many injured


A major accident has occurred in Kakori area of ​​UP's capital Lucknow, where a roadways bus coming from Hardoi lost control while trying to avoid a parked tanker and fell off the bridge. The bus was full of passengers. Five people died on the spot in this accident. It is being said that many people were buried under the bus. About 20 people have been injured. All the injured have been taken to Kakori CHC by the police. Relief and rescue work is going on at the spot.

Eyewitnesses of the incident said that road construction work is going on. Water was being sprayed from a tanker on the road. Meanwhile, the roadways bus collided with the tanker parked on the road and lost control. After this, it fell into a 20 feet deep ditch. Three bike riders also died in the accident. They were buried under the bus.

Police said that the bus of Kaiserbagh depot was coming from Hardoi with passengers. Road construction work was going on near Golakuan and trees had been planted, which were being watered from the tanker. Initial investigation revealed that the driver had parked the tanker on the roadside and gone somewhere. Seeing the roadways bus coming at a high speed from behind, the driver could not stop it and while turning to avoid it, hit four to five bike riders and overturned in a 25 feet deep drain from the bridge.

Many people buried under the bus

The incident caused chaos at the spot. The local people informed the police about the accident and got involved in the relief and rescue work. After this, a crane came and the bus was straightened. The people who came under the bus were taken to the hospital by ambulance. The bus was coming from Hardoi to Kaiserbagh Depot Lucknow. 

According to the information, there were about 54 passengers in the bus. Lucknow DM Visakh reached the spot as soon as the information of the accident was received. He took stock of the relief and rescue work. He ordered to send the seriously injured to the trauma center.

There were no street lights on the road

Local people said that the main reason for the accident was that there were no street lights. The bus was also moving at a high speed. If there were lights, the tanker would have been visible from a distance, which would have prevented the accident. This shows the negligence of the concerned department.

CM Yogi orders to take the injured to the hospital

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also received information about the incident. He has taken cognizance of the accident. CM Yogi has ordered to immediately take the injured to the hospital and instructed the district administration officials to provide them proper treatment. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
