The Super Four matches in the Asia Cup-2025 start on Saturday. India and Pakistan will play against each other on Sunday.

Before the match, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav spoke to the press. He was asked if the match would be like the strong rivalry they've had for years. Suryakumar replied, "I don't really know about that rivalry. When I’m on the field and see a full stadium, I tell my teammates, 'Let’s have some fun.' So many fans are here to watch, so we need to entertain them and play good cricket. We try not to think too much about it."

Yadav added, "Just like always, the country will support us in this match. Since it's Sunday, I believe more people will be watching. So, relax and enjoy the game. When we play, we will give it our all and bring the same energy."

Yadav was also indirectly questioned about the 'no handshake controversy'. The Indian captain smiled and said, "What are you talking about? Are you talking about our performance with the ball? It's a good match between bat and ball."

It's best to close your room, turn off your phone

Regarding outside noise, the Indian captain said it's best to close your room, turn off your phone, and go to sleep before a match. However, Suryakumar added that it's not always possible to keep the noise out when you're off the field. "Lock your room, turn off your phone, and go to sleep. I think that's the best thing," Suryakumar said. "It's easy to say, but sometimes it's difficult because you meet a lot of friends, go out to dinner. There are a lot of players around you who like to watch all this, so it's very difficult."

Depends on the players

Suryakumar said it's up to the players to decide what they want to hear and keep in mind before a match. The Indian captain claimed he has told his players to learn from pre-match discussions. Suryakumar said the players are in a good space before the match against Pakistan.

Earlier, on September 14, India won against Pakistan by seven wickets in a league match.
