Bhopal Haat Set for Grand Makeover on Delhi Haat Lines; MP CM Mohan Yadav Opens Swadeshi Mela with a Feast of Desi Delicacies
Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on his birthday, is encouraging spirit of ‘Vocal For Local’ through the Seva Pakhwada. Under the Seva Pakhwada until October 2, activities focused on public participation, cleanliness and welfare will be conducted with the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”
CM Yadav said that the ‘Swadeshi Mela With Swadeshi Delicacies’ put up by self-help groups at Bhopal Haat marks the beginning of these activities. As many as 40 self-help groups are participating, benefiting over 3,600 families. Considering the upcoming festivals, this Swadeshi Mela assumes significance as it will allow Bhopal's residents to experience local products. It also provides a platform to market items made in villages. Such initiatives will promote self-reliance, which has been India’s identity. Swadeshi products will bring pride to villages, districts, and the state while contributing to the building of a self-reliant India. CM Dr. Yadav inaugurated the ‘Swadeshi Mela With Swadeshi Delicacies’ at Bhopal Haat on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inspected the stalls at the Swadeshi Fair, interacted with sellers and artisans, and purchased items including water bottle bags. He also enjoyed pani-puri at the chaat stall set up by Siddhi Vinayak Livelihood Self-Help Group from village Bhojpur.
PM Mitra Park to Open Doors to Prosperity
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that PM Modi will visit the state on September 17 and lay foundation of PM Mitra Park. PM Mitra Park in the Dhar-Jhabua region will provide direct employment to over one lakh people and indirect employment to two lakh people, opening doors to prosperity for all. Textiles produced here will reach all major countries globally. Due to the superior quality of organic cotton in the state, there is high global demand. PM Mitra Park will give appropriate global recognition to the state’s organic cotton.
SHGs to help India Become World’s Third Largest Economy
Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Patel said that self-help groups are progressing rapidly. Food processing is taking place in rural areas through the livelihood mission. The sisters in these groups are being provided all possible support from the central and state governments. District-level fairs for self-help group products will be organised.

Patel said the state government is working to develop Bhopal Haat like Delhi Haat. He said Bhopal Haat is set for grand makeover on the lines of Delhi Haat. The minister said when India becomes the world’s third-largest economy, self-help groups will play the largest role. He also extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Modi.
Shop For Festivals at Swadeshi Mela
MLA Rameshwar Sharma said that with Diwali and other festivals approaching, residents no longer need to depend on foreign LEDs as LEDs made by village sisters and daughters are available at the Swadeshi Mela. It will run for four days. Sharma encouraged city residents to shop at the Swadeshi Fair in view of Diwali, Navratri and Dussehra.
Minority Welfare State Minister Krishna Gaur, Mayor Malti Rai, Zilla Panchayat Chairperson Ramkunwar Gurjar, Ravindra Yati, Keerat Singh and a large number of self-help group women members were present at the event.
