Madhya Pradesh's first Namo Fruit Forest being developed in Sagar's Surkhi: all types of fruit trees are being planted, know more about it
Madhya Pradesh's first Namo Fruit Forest is being developed on 70 acres of land in village Baroda under Surkhi assembly constituency in Sagar district. This is the first such garden in the state where all types of fruit trees are being planted.
Madhya Pradesh's Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput on Tuesday inspected the Fruit Forest. Minister Rajput himself drove a tractor along with the villagers and reached the Namo Fruit Forest site.
Target is to plant 10 lakh sapling
Minister Rajput said that currently 21 thousand fruit plants are being planted in this garden. Thousands of fruit plants of mango, guava, jackfruit, amla, lemon, custard apple, pomegranate etc. are being planted in the Fruit Forest.
Rajput said our target is to plant 10 lakh plants. An action plan is also being prepared to establish food processing and other cottage industries in Baroda village, which will provide employment opportunities to the local people. He informed that Namo Fruit Garden is being built in 10 acres in Talchiri too. Fruit trees are being planted there also.
Minister Rajput obtained information about the condition of plantation, care of plants, irrigation system and participation of local people during the inspection. He said that programs are being organized across the country under Seva Pakhwada to commemorate the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this sequence, 21 thousand fruit trees are being planted in Namo Fruit Forest near village Baroda Rajghat of Surkhi assembly.
Fruit Forest will be handed over to the women members of SHG
Minister Shri Rajput informed that Namo Fruit Forest will be handed over to the women members of the self-help group, which will make them self-reliant and also economically prosperous. He instructed the officials of the Agriculture Department to complete all the work within the time limit and ensure that all the plants are taken care of regularly. After inspection, Minister Govind Singh Rajput called upon the villagers to take care of the plants and cooperate in environmental protection.
