Bihar Assembly Election-2025: The political atmosphere in the state is heating up ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections-2025. Grand Alliance leader and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is vigorously raising the issue of "vote theft." He is calling the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process a way of institutional vote theft. However, it's unclear if this tough approach will help the Congress party and its allies or backfire on them.

Rahul Gandhi says he has strong proof of vote theft, comparing it to a "hydrogen bomb," which he plans to share soon. Earlier, he held a press conference claiming he had information about vote theft that was like dropping an "atom bomb."

Rahul Gandhi has been continuously attacking the BJP and the Election Commission. He claims that election results are being influenced by tampering with voter lists. However, he has not yet filed a formal complaint with the Election Commission. Unease is clearly visible within the Grand Alliance regarding this strategy.

Tejashwi's different focus

According to sources from the RJD,  Yadav is campaigning vigorously on ground issues like unemployment, migration, crime, poor government services, and paper leaks. In contrast, Rahul Gandhi is primarily focusing on the issue of "vote theft." This one-sided approach may divert attention from the real concerns of the public.

What even some Cong leaders fear?

Even some Congress leaders fear that this aggressive stance could not only harm the election strategy but also question the credibility of Indian democracy. Therefore, Rahul Gandhi should focus on the ground issues of Bihar beyond vote theft.

Do people consider vote theft as major election issue?

Rahul Gandhi recently walked for 16 days during the Voter Adhikar Yatra (Voter Rights Yatra) and raised the issue of vote theft at every meeting. But how much impact has it had on the ground? According to Vote Vibe's Bihar Elections 2025 survey, only 21% of people in the state consider the SIR process and vote theft as major election issues. In contrast, 32% consider unemployment the most important issue.

Will the Grand Alliance suffer?

Political pundits say that Rahul Gandhi is focusing all his energy on "vote theft." If this issue doesn't reach the public, the Grand Alliance could suffer the consequences. At the same time, it could benefit the NDA.

Now, it will be interesting to see when Rahul Gandhi detonates the "hydrogen bomb" he's talking about. Will it truly deliver a blow to the ruling party or prove to be a setback for the Congress and the Grand Alliance.
