Amul has announced that it will lower prices of over 700 of its products, like ghee, butter, cheese, ice cream, and more due to GST reduction. This change will start from September 22, 2025.

Earlier, Mother Dairy also lowered prices on its dairy products on September 16, with cuts ranging from Rs 2 to Rs 30 for items such as milk, paneer, cheese, ghee, butter, ice cream, and processed foods.

Here are some specific price changes from Amul.

Ghee: One liter of Amul ghee will now cost Rs 610, down by Rs 40.

Butter: A 100-gram pack of butter will be Rs 58 instead of Rs 62.

Cheese: A 1 kg cheese block will now cost Rs 545, down by Rs 30.

Paneer: A 200-gram pack of frozen paneer will be priced at Rs 95, down from Rs 99.

Other products like UHT milk, chocolates, bakery items, frozen snacks, condensed milk, peanut spread, and malt drinks will also see price drops.

However, Amul's pouched milk prices will stay the same because it already has zero GST.

Jayen Mehta, the Managing Director of the Gujarat Cooperative Marketing Federation, said that the full benefit of the GST reduction is being passed on to customers. Amul believes that lowering prices will help increase the demand for dairy products like ice cream, cheese, and butter, which will help boost sales.
