US President Donald Trump on Monday claimed that India has offered to reduce the import duty on American goods to zero but it has been too late.

Trump says that India should have done this years ago. Trump has also called India-US trade a 'one-sided disaster' in his post.

Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social, "Very few people understand that we do very little business with India, but they (India) do a lot of business with us."

"In other words, India sells us goods on a large scale. We are their biggest client but we sell very little goods to them. Till now it has been a completely one-sided relationship and it has been like this for decades."

He wrote, "The reason our businessmen are still not able to sell goods in India is that India has imposed the highest tariff on us compared to any other country. It has been a one-sided disaster so far."

"India buys most of its oil and military products from Russia, very little from the US. Now they have offered to reduce the tariff to zero, but it is getting delayed. They should have done this years ago."
