Karur stampede: Will Vijay be arrested? What Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin said?
A case has been filed against four people in the Karur stampede case in Tamil Nadu. TVK General Secretary N Anand is also named. TVK is the party of actor-turned politician Vijay.
A journalist asked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin whether TVK President Vijay will be arrested in this case.
In response, CM Stalin said, "An investigation committee headed by a retired High Court judge has been formed and will respond after the investigation is complete. In the meantime, as you are asking, I do not want to say anything for political purposes."
He said that the committee's investigation will reveal the truth and appropriate action will be taken based on that.
Rahul Gandhi condoles loss of lives
Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi condoled the loss of lives in Karur. He wrote on social media, "Deeply saddened by the tragic incident at a political rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu, that has taken so many precious lives. My heart goes out to their loved ones, and I wish a swift recovery to all those injured.
I urge Congress workers and leaders to extend every possible support to the victims and their families, and to work closely with the authorities in relief and rescue efforts."

Congress MP from Karur, Jothimani Sennimalai, said that a tragedy of this magnitude has never happened before in this area, and it will take years to recover.
She said, "I met with all the families who lost loved ones. We met with those undergoing treatment; almost all are very poor, laborers, or farmers."
MP Jothimani stated that the condition of all the injured is stable.
She said, "We do not want to politicize this matter. The government has formed a one-member committee headed by Justice (Retd.) Aruna Jagadeesan, whom we trust. Chief Minister MK Stalin arrived here at midnight and stayed until morning."
MP Jothimani stated that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi spoke to her and the State Congress Committee President by phone.
