Kuno: Sad news for cheetah lovers: 20-month-old female sub-adult cheetah found dead, conflict with leopard suspected to be cause

Sheopur: The Field Director, Cheetah Project has informed that a 20-month-old female sub-adult cheetah was found dead in the forest of Kuno National Park on Monday evening around 6.30 pm. She was released in the forest on 21 February 2025 along with mother Jwala and 3 cubs.
The dead female sub-adult cheetah had left her mother more than a month ago and her fellow cubs a few days ago. The Field Director said that the primary cause of death appears to be conflict with the leopard. Detailed cause of the death will be known after receiving the post-mortem report.
It is noteworthy that there are now a total of 25 cheetahs in Kuno, including 9 adults (6 females and 3 males) and 16 cheetahs born in India. All are healthy and in good condition.
