Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang felicitated Madhya Pradesh's international hockey player Vivek Sagar at TT Stadium, on Tuesday. Vivek Sagar played an important role in leading the Indian team to victory by performing excellently in the Hockey Asia Cup held recently in Rajgir (Bihar), and also displayed his sports skills and leadership abilities throughout the tournament.
Sarang said that due to players like Vivek Sagar, the sports identity of Madhya Pradesh is being established not only in the whole country but also at the international level. He said that Vivek Sagar's performance was the best in the entire tournament including the final match held in Rajgir. He has made India proud with his passion and struggle. It is a matter of pride for all of us that such stars are emerging from the land of Madhya Pradesh, who are spreading the shine of their talent all over the world.
It is noteworthy that in the final of Asia Cup-2025 played in Rajgir, the Indian hockey team defeated South Korea 4-1 and won the Asia Cup title for the fourth time. With this historic victory, the Indian team has also qualified for the upcoming Hockey World Cup.
Sarang congratulated the captain, coach and all the players on this achievement of the Indian team and said that this sequence of victory of Indian hockey will continue uninterrupted and Indian hockey will achieve new heights.
