PM Modi congratulates CP Radhakrishnan, what Jagdeep Dhankhar said? Meet India's vice president elect
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated CP Radhakrishnan on winning the 2025 Vice Presidential election.
In a post on X, he wrote:
“Congratulations to Thiru CP Radhakrishnan Ji on winning the 2025 Vice Presidential election. His life has always been devoted to serving society and empowering the poor and marginalised. I am confident that he will be an outstanding VP, who will strengthen our Constitutional values and enhance Parliamentary discourse."
Jagdeep Dhankar congratulates Radhakrishnan
Former Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankar congratulated NDA's CP Radhakrishnan. He said Radhakrishnan's elevation to august office shows trust and representatives' confidence.
“Heartfelt felicitations on your election as the Vice-President of Bharat, the world's largest democracy and home to one-sixth of humanity. Your elevation to this august office reflects the trust and confidence by the representatives of our nation,” Dhankar said.
Meet CP Radhakrishnan
According to the information given on the website of Maharashtra Raj Bhavan, CP Radhakrishnan, born on 20 October 1957 in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration. Starting as a volunteer of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), he became a member of the State Executive Committee of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1974.
In 1996, he was appointed Secretary of BJP in Tamil Nadu. After this, he became a Lok Sabha MP from Coimbatore.
While being an MP, he was the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee (Ministry of Textiles). Apart from this, CP Radhakrishnan was a member of the Special Parliamentary Committee formed to investigate the stock exchange scam.
In 2004, CP Radhakrishnan addressed the United Nations General Assembly as part of a parliamentary delegation. He was also a member of the first parliamentary delegation to visit Taiwan.
In 2016, he was made the Chairman of the Kochi-based Coir Board, where he worked for four years. Under his leadership, the export of coconut fibre from India reached a record level of Rs 2532 crore. From 2020 to 2022, Radhakrishnan was the Kerala in-charge of BJP.
