Nepal Violence: Former PM Jhalanath Khanal's wife burnt to death; rumors of KP Sharma Oli leaving the country


Rajlakshmi Chitrakar, wife of former Nepal Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, has died following severe burns sustained during a protest that escalated into violence. Protesters set her house on fire on Tuesday, and she was immediately rushed to Kirtipur Burn Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Jhalanath Khanal served as Prime Minister from February to August 2011. The unrest in the capital city of Kathmandu remains severe. Security forces are struggling to maintain order amid ongoing violent protests. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has resigned in response to the escalating chaos, and an army helicopter has been deployed to ensure his safety.

The violent clashes have resulted in over 22 deaths and more than 400 injuries. Protesters have set fire to the Parliament building and attacked the private residences of Prime Minister Oli, President Ram Chandra Paudel, and Home Minister. 

In a particularly alarming incident, former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba was assaulted at his home, and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel was chased and attacked near his residence, with a viral video capturing the moment a protester kicked him in the chest.

Oli left the country?

The protesting students have set the parliament on fire. It is being said that Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has fled the country. Meanwhile, a video is becoming increasingly viral on social media. A helicopter is seen flying from a residential area of ​​the city. It is believed that this helicopter may belong to former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. 

According to local media reports, Oli left the country after resigning from his post on Tuesday. It is being told that he left for Dubai in a private plane immediately after his resignation. It is expected that he may have traveled from his home to the airport by this helicopter. However, there has been no official confirmation about this yet.
