Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann falls ill, admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali due to high fever. A statement issued by the hospital said that Bhagwant Mann was brought to the hospital after complaining of fatigue and slow heartbeat.
A team of doctors examined him. Bhagwant Mann fell ill 2 days ago. His program to visit flood-affected areas with AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal was also postponed. Since then, he was undergoing treatment at the Chief Minister's residence in Chandigarh. Due to his ill health, the cabinet meeting scheduled for Friday evening also had to be postponed.
After this, when his health deteriorated further in the evening, he was taken to the hospital. Seeing his condition, the doctors advised to admit him.
Mann was continuously visiting flood-affected areas
Bhagwant Mann was continuously visiting flood-affected areas. During this time his health deteriorated. His health started deteriorating on Wednesday (September 3) night. On Thursday, he was to go to Gurdaspur with party supremo Arvind Kejriwal, but he did not go. Then in Sultanpur Lodhi, Arvind Kejriwal had said that Bhagwant Mann sahab's health is not good, he is on drip. After this all the programs of Mann were canceled.
Health had deteriorated in Sept last year
Last year too, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's health had deteriorated. On 26 September 2024, he was admitted to Fortis Hospital. Routine checkup revealed that there was swelling in his pulmonary artery, due to which the pressure on the heart was increasing and blood pressure was also changing.
Later, on examination, he was found to have an infection called leptospirosis, which is caused by bacteria spread through rain and dirty water. Doctors started treating him with antibiotics and kept him under observation for a few days. He was discharged from the hospital on 29 September 2024.
