Trump tariff: US President Donald Trump has moved Supreme Court against the lower court's decision on tariff.
The lower court had declared many of his tariff decisions as illegal, Trump has appealed against this.
In the petition filed by Trump administration on Wednesday night, judges have been requested to intervene immediately.
The administration has demanded that the judges order that the President has the power to impose such import duties on other countries.
Last week, the lower court of America had said in its order that the Emergency Economic Powers Act under which Trump has imposed tariffs does not come under the jurisdiction of the President.
It has also been said in the order that the right to impose duty is completely with the Parliament.
Small businessmen have challenged Trump's tariff decision in the court. Their lawyers have expressed confidence that they will win the case.
If the Supreme Court refuses to review the lower court's decision, this decision will come into effect from October 14.
If this happens, Trump's economic and foreign policy agenda will suffer a huge setback. He will have to return the billions of dollars he received in the name of tariffs.
