What Do the Latest Figures on Employment Rates and Recruitment in America Show?
There are signs of a decline in jobs in America. In the month of August, only 22,000 new jobs were given in America, which is less than expected.
The unemployment rate also increased from 4.2 percent to 4.3 percent. This information has been given in the data of the Labor Department.
On Friday, the department said that its latest data shows that jobs have actually been lost in June. This has happened for the first time since 2020.
Recruitment figures in May-June were much lower than expected
Last month, the Labor Department said that the recruitment figures in May-June were much lower than expected. This statement had raised concerns about the health of the US economy.
Meanwhile, the decline in the recruitment figures in August has increased this concern further.
White House Economic Advisor Kevin Hassett said that the employment figures in August were disappointing. We expect better figures in the coming months.
Earlier, after the release of employment figures in July, US President Donald Trump had sacked Bureau of Statistics Commissioner Erica McEntire on August 1.
He had alleged, "The agency had presented the employment figures in a weak light to make me and the Republican Party look bad."
Economists had also criticised Trump's move a lot.
