Haryana IPS Y Puran Kumar Suicide Case: Wife Amneet Kumar Lodges Complaint Against DGP, SP; Vows to Take Action Against Those Named in Suicide Note

Haryana IPS IG Y Puran Kumar Suicide Case: In the tragic case of senior Haryana IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar's suicide, his wife, IAS Amneet P. Kumar, has filed a complaint against Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor and Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarnia. In her four-page complaint, she accused the two officials of harassing, discriminating against, and torturing her husband.

Amneet alleged that a false case (FIR No. 0319/2025) was filed against him at the behest of DGP Kapoor just prior to her husband's death. She said it was a deliberate conspiracy that led her husband to take his own life out of extreme despair. She further claimed that her husband faced caste-based abuse and public humiliation only because he belonged to the SC/ST community.

Amneet discovered an eight-page suicide note

Upon returning home, Amneet discovered an eight-page suicide note written by her husband, in which he expressed his pain and harassment, naming several other officials. She said she found a copy of the suicide note in her husband's cupboard and laptop, which she handed over to the police.

CS expressed his condolences

Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, who visited Amneet, expressed his condolences but refrained from commenting further, stating, "Our colleague is no more with us; I cannot say anything more than this."

Several senior IAS and IPS officers met Amneet

Amneet returned to Chandigarh from Japan on Wednesday morning, having accompanied Chief Minister Nayab Saini on an official tour. Several senior IAS and IPS officers, including Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, met her upon her arrival from Japan.

Sources indicate that Amneet appeared very disturbed regarding her husband's suicide. She expressed her intention to take action against those responsible as indicated in the suicide note. Discussions have arisen about the possibility of the family demanding a CBI investigation prior to the postmortem or funeral.

After her meetings with senior officials, Amneet returned to her residence in Sector 11, where she spent a considerable amount of time in the basement, the location where her husband tragically took his life on October 7th
