The President Droupadi Murmu will visit Gujarat from October 9 to 11, 2025.
The President will reach Rajkot in the evening of October 9.
On October 10, Murmu will perform Darshan and Aarti at Somnath Temple.
On the same day, she will also visit the Gir National Park and interact with the members of the local tribal community at Sasan Gir.
Gir National Park is the only place in the world outside Africa where a lion can be seen in its natural habitat. Gir is a home to 40 species of mammals and 425 species of birds. Gir is the only natural habitat of world popular Asiatic Lions.
The deciduous forests of Sasan Gir are home to several indigenous tribes and local communities that are deeply connected to the land. Maldhari and Siddi communities have lived here for many years and are as much a part of the magnificent Sasan scenery as the famous lions.
On October 11, the President will perform Darshan and Aarti at Dwarkadhish Temple at Dwarka. On the same day, she will also grace the 71st convocation ceremony of the Gujarat Vidyapith at Ahmedabad.
The Dwarkadhish Temple (Jagat Mandir), is dedicated to Krishna and believed to have been established more than 2500 years ago by Lord Krishna’s great grandson, Vajranabh. The ancient temple has been renovated several times, especially leaving imprints of 16th and 19th centuries. The temple stands on a small hill accessed by 50 plus steps.
