Wildlife Rescue Centers and Zoos near National Parks to Become Role Models, Says Mohan Yadav; What More CM Told While Opening Wildlife Week at Bhopal's Van Vihar

MP: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that wildlife is our natural capital, the light of forests and environment. The coexistence of humans and wildlife is the symbol of nature’s balance. With the spirit of “Live and let live,” we are committed to the collective growth of life. Efforts for wildlife conservation will continue. 

CM Mohan Yadav inaugurated tourist safari vehicles for Satpura Tiger Reserve and more than 40 e-vehicles for Van Vihar at the state-level Wildlife Week inauguration in Van Vihar National Park.

New zoos are being developed in Ujjain and Jabalpur

CM further announced that new zoos are being developed in Ujjain and Jabalpur. Around every national park, Zoo and Rescue Centers will be established to provide timely medical treatment to injured wildlife. This will set Madhya Pradesh apart as a state committed to both conservation and wildlife care. Crocodiles will soon be released in the sacred Narmada and Tawa rivers.

CM presented wildlife conservation awards

Dr Yadav also viewed a photo exhibition on “Wildlife of India: Their Habitat and Communication.” The CM presented wildlife conservation awards to 9 government officers-employees and one wildlife rescue team for their contribution to public awareness. 

Expressing happiness, Dr. Yadav said Madhya Pradesh leads the country in forests and wildlife. Cheetahs, tigers, gharials, and vultures are symbols of Madhya Pradesh’s identity, and efforts are underway to introduce cobras as well.



Pollution-free tourism

CM said old diesel-based safari vehicles are being replaced with electric vehicles, a crucial step for both environmental protection and eco-tourism. Today, over 40 electric vehicles were inaugurated for Satpura Tiger Reserve, enabling pollution-free tourism.

Crocodiles will be released into Narmada and Tawa

Various innovative projects such as “Cheetah Mitra,” “Elephant Mitra,” and “Tapti Conservation Reserve” are being implemented. He said crocodiles will be released into Narmada and its tributary Tawa.

Additional Chief Secretary Shri Ashok Barnwal, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Shri V.N. Ambade, Additional PCCF Shri L. Krishnamurthy along with Shri Rahul Kothari, officers/employees of Forest and Tourism Department, tourists and school students were present . The Chief Minister was welcomed with a tulsi plant, received a hand-painted gift from student Nudra Shukla, and posed for group photos with students to encourage awareness about wildlife protection.
