Bihar will become AI hub: Cabinet led by Nitish Kumar approves 'Bihar Artificial Intelligence Mission'
Patna: The proposal to establish the 'Bihar Artificial Intelligence Mission' in the state was approved in the first Council of Ministers meeting on Tuesday after the formation of the new government.
A total of 10 proposals were approved in the Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit provided detailed information on the proposals passed after the Council of Ministers meeting.
Pratyay Amrit stated that the 'Bihar Artificial Intelligence Mission' is being established to make Bihar a leading state in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). AI has become a socially and economically transformative technology, therefore, through research, innovation, and collaboration with leading industries, Bihar needs to become a leading hub in this field.
He stated that this will give new impetus to the state's social, economic, and regional progress. The Bihar government aims to make the state a leading hub for AI by enhancing research, innovation, training, and industry collaboration in the field of AI, thereby unlocking new development opportunities and providing better services to the public.
25 New Sugar Mills to Be Opened
Giving information about the approved proposals, the Chief Secretary stated that 25 new sugar mills will be opened in Bihar. Nine sugar mills are already closed. A committee has been formed to establish new sugar mills in the state and revive existing closed ones.
11 New Townships to Be Developed
He stated that 11 new townships will be developed in Bihar. This initiative aims to accelerate urban development and create new urban centers equipped with modern amenities.
Bihar to develop as the new tech hub
Chief Secretary Amrit stated that with the aim of developing Bihar as the new tech hub of Eastern India, it has been decided to establish a Defense Corridor, Semiconductor Manufacturing Park, Global Capability Centers, Mega Tech City, and Fintech City.
The Chief Secretary stated that to accelerate the pace of development of a changing Bihar, the goal is to create a new-age economy of technology and service-based innovations in Bihar. He stated that to encourage talented entrepreneurs and youth of Bihar, plans are being made to promote start-ups and new types of modern economic activities in the state.
Working to create more employment opportunities: Niish
Meanwhile, Nitish opened up on the target of the new age economy in Bihar. "After the formation of the new government, we have swiftly started working to promote industries in the state and create more employment opportunities. To accelerate the pace of development in the changing Bihar, we have set the goal of building a New Age Economy based on technology and service innovations in Bihar.'
CM said further, "To achieve this goal, we will seek suggestions from leading entrepreneurs with connections to Bihar and develop policies and plans accordingly. Additionally, with the collaboration of key departments, renowned economists, and experts, a detailed action plan will be created to establish Bihar as a 'Global Back-End Hub' and 'Global Workplace'."
