Cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara's brother-in-law, Jeet Pabari (28), died of suicide in Rajkot on Wednesday. Jeet hanged himself at the home. A year ago on this day, his former fiancรฉe had filed a rape case against him.

The family is linking the suicide to this case. No suicide note has yet been found in Jeet's room. Police preliminary investigations revealed that Jeet had been suffering from depression for a long time.

The family reported that when Jeet's room's door didn't open for a long time on Wednesday morning, they rushed to the room and found him hanging. Jeet was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The engagement took place on January 27, 2022. But Jeet subsequently broke off the engagement. According to information received from the Malviya Nagar police station, Jeet's former fiancรฉe had alleged that Jeet had forced physical relations with her under the pretense of marriage. 

The fiancรฉe also alleges that Jeet had made videos of the rape. Jeet had threatened her that if she told anyone about the rape, he would make the video viral.

Jeet was the only brother of Cheteshwar's wife Pooja. Cheteshwar Pujara's in-laws are from Jamjodhpur, but have been living in Rajkot for the last twenty years. Jeet was the only brother of Cheteshwar's wife Pooja. Both have a younger sister. 

Pooja studied till 10th standard from Sophia School in Abu, 11th-12th standard from Ahmedabad and did her Master's degree from Bombay. After that, she worked in a multinational company for a year. It was here that she met Cheteshwar and then both of them got married.
