Director: Anshul Sharma

Run time: 2 hours and 27 minutes
Where to watch: Cinemas
Ratings: 4 stars
The film begins right from the moment where the previous movie De De Pyaar De ended—meaning Ashish Mehra (Ajay Devgn) and Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh) are happy, but now their relationship faces challenges at a new level. A major part of the story revolves around Ashish trying to gain the approval of Ayesha’s family, especially her father R. Madhavan (Rajji Khurana) and mother Gautami Kapoor (Mrs. Rajji Khurana).
The fun in the story truly begins when Ajay Devgn meets R. Madhavan, and that’s where the battle of generations starts. Even after several attempts, when Madhavan fails to understand Rakul, Meezaan Jafri enters the story after a small twist and gets Ayesha entangled in his love. But what happens after that is yet another twist. And what you think is the twist, there’s actually a twist after that too.
Dialogues are extremely entertaining
The writing is the soul of the film. There are several dialogues that are extremely entertaining, and the way they are connected to real-life situations adds even more fun. Without giving away spoilers, it can be said that the film even references Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, and Javed Jaffrey is asked to “adopt” Meezaan. The screenplay is good, though the background score and editing could have been a bit stronger. Director Anshul Sharma has done a commendable job.
Ajay Devgn suits the role perfectly
Talking about the acting, once again Ajay Devgn plays his character with complete sincerity, and he suits the role perfectly. R. Madhavan shines as the super-cool, modern father, bringing life to the entire film. Gautami Kapoor, who plays his wife, also performs exceptionally well. Rakul Preet Singh looks quite fresh in the film. In the second half, Meezaan Jafri enters, and along with Javed Jaffrey and Ishita Dutta, they do justice to their characters.
Overall, the film deserves four stars. You can enjoy this movie with your family, as it offers both a message and entertainment.
