MP: Celebration of nature, adventure and culture in Kuno: Second edition of "Kuno Forest Retreat" kicks off, these will be key attractions
Madhya Pradesh, which has been honored with the return of cheetahs after 70 years, is now witnessing a unique celebration of nature, adventure, and culture. The second edition of the "Kuno Forest Retreat" kicked off on November 14 in the picturesque surroundings of Kuno National Park in Sheopur.
Minister of State for Tourism, Culture, Religious Endowments and Endowments, Dharmendra Lodhi, stated that the Kuno Forest Retreat aims to present a unique confluence of tourism, wildlife, and culture that will be unforgettable for visitors. This event will establish Kuno, the home of cheetahs, on the global map as a leading sustainable tourism destination and strengthen the resolve for a self-reliant Madhya Pradesh by providing a global platform to local arts, crafts, and cuisine.
Organized by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, this prestigious festival was formally inaugurated by Sitaram Adivasi, Chairman, Sahariya Vikas Agency, by lighting the lamp.
Kuno to Become a National Destination for Eco-Tourism
Additional Chief Secretary for Tourism and Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, Sheo Shekhar Shukla, described the event as a celebration of the state's natural heritage, wildlife conservation, and rich cultural traditions. He said that this festival is not just an event, but also a celebration of the globally acclaimed cheetah rehabilitation project. Our aim is to connect tourists with nature, provide livelihood opportunities for the local community, and establish Madhya Pradesh on the national eco-tourism map.
An Unforgettable Experience in the Lap of Nature
Organized in collaboration with Evoke Camping, this forest retreat offers a wealth of experiences for visitors. 25 luxury all-season glamping tents have been set up amidst the natural beauty of Kuno, offering tourists a unique opportunity to experience nature in its lap. The retreat includes a jungle safari, land- and air-based adventure activities, yoga and meditation sessions, village tours, and wellness activities.
Cultural Evening Captivates the Heart
The cultural evening held at the inauguration mesmerized the audience. Traditional Badhai dances brought alive the birth anecdotes of Lord Rama and Krishna, while Bundelkhand's famous Naurata dance introduced the state's rich folk traditions. In addition to these performances, the festival will also showcase local handicrafts and tribal art, which will deeply connect tourists with the state's culture. Senior officials from the Tourism Board, Forest Department, and local administration were present on the occasion.
