MP's Anujya Sharma bags bronze at Asian Championships in Japan; Sports Minister Vishwas Sarang greets

Bhopal: Anujya Sharma from Madhya Pradesh created history by winning a bronze medal for the country at the Asian Championships, held in Tokyo, Japan, from November 2 to 5, 2025. Anujya performed exceptionally well in her 220 category, defeating a Japanese athlete to earn the medal. Expressing delight at this achievement, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang congratulated and wished Anujya Sharma.

Anujya Sharma was selected for the Kudo Asian Championships in Tokyo, Japan, in the selection trials held at Athletica Gym in Surat, Gujarat.

On October 30th, before the Kudo India team departed for Japan, Shihan Akshay Kumar, Chairman of Kudo International Federation India, met with Indian players. He encouraged them to perform well and extended his best wishes. 

The Indian Kudo team, led by Hansi Mehul Vohra, departed for Tokyo from Mumbai on October 31. Hansi Mehul Vohra and Dr. Mohammad Ejaz Khan, President of the Kudo Association of Madhya Pradesh, guided the players. It was under their leadership that Anugya achieved this feat.

The dedication, hard work, and passion of Shajapur's talented Kudo player, Anugya Sharma, has brought pride to Madhya Pradesh and the country. By hoisting the Indian flag in Tokyo, the daughter of Shajapur has fulfilled the dreams of her grandfather Manohar Lal Sharma, grandmother Late Chandrakala Sharma, mother Shilu Sharma, and father Rajiv Lochan Sharma. 

Sports association officials, sports enthusiasts, and family members have expressed their joy and congratulated Anugya on this achievement. 

Anujya is receiving training in the sport from Rajiv Lochan Sharma, Secretary and Coach of the Kudo Association, Shajapur. Coach Sharma said that Anujya had won two gold and one silver medal for the country in the Akshay Kumar Kudo International Tournament in the past. Anujya has brought laurels to the state by winning four gold and two silver medals in national competitions. In addition, Anujya has won three gold medals in the Federation Cup.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
