Nitish Kumar returns with a bang: 13 new faces in Bihar Cabinet; 14 ministers from BJP quota, eight from JDU

Nitish Kumar was sworn in as Chief Minister of Bihar for the 10th time. Several senior BJP leaders, including PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President JP Nadda, were present at the grand ceremony held at Gandhi Maidan.

Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were sworn in as Deputy CMs. Twenty-six ministers were also sworn in. Fourteen are from the BJP quota, eight from the JDU, two from the LJP(R), one from the HAM, and one from Kushwaha's party. This cabinet includes one Muslim candidate. The JDU has reappointed Jama Khan as a minister.

After the oath, PM Modi greeted the crowd by waving a gamchha from the stage. Chief Ministers from Haryana, Assam, Gujarat, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, Odisha, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan also attended. Chirag Paswan touched the feet of Manjhi and JP Nadda on the stage and sought their blessings.

Shreysi Singh becomes minister for the first time

Shreysi Singh, elected as an MLA for the second time, has been inducted into the Nitish cabinet. She secured a decisive win from Jamui. An international shooting champion, Shreysi is considered a clean and dynamic political face. As a young and prominent female leader, she is expected to play a significant role in BJP’s strategy.

Ram Kripal has ministerial experience under Modi cabinet

Ram Kripal Yadav, a former MP from Patliputra, has previously served as Union Minister of State in PM Modi’s cabinet. After losing the 2024 Lok Sabha election to Misa Bharti, he has now been elected as MLA from Danapur and joined the Nitish cabinet. Ram Kripal brings experience at both central and state levels.

Six ministers, including Lacy Singh and Ram Kripal Yadav, took oath together.

13 New Faces in Nitish Cabinet

This time, new faces have been given a chance in the Nitish cabinet. Ramkripal Yadav and Shreyasi Singh have been inducted into the cabinet. Two MLAs from Chirag's party have been appointed ministers, including Sanjay Singh.

Sanjay Singh won the election from Mahua, defeating Lalu Yadav's son Tej Pratap.
