A widespread internet disruption affected popular platforms like X and ChatGPT due to issues with Cloudflare, a major content delivery network provider. Users encountered error messages and were unable to access various websites and online services. The problems were directly linked to Cloudflare's system malfunctions.

The problem began at 5:00 PM IST on Tuesday evening.
Cloudflare said in a statement that it had "observed an unusual increase in traffic on one of Cloudflare's services," causing problems with its connected traffic.
Some users received a message on their X page stating that an issue with their internal servers was due to an error caused by Cloudflare.
Similar messages were also received by some users of ChatGPT's website, indicating potential impact to several customers.
In a later update, it said, "Services are recovering but some users may experience more errors than usual."
