What Congress has now said about Special Intensive Revision

Congress has said that it will hold a rally in Delhi against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

This decision was taken on Tuesday at a meeting of senior party leaders with Congress leaders from the 12 states and union territories where the second phase of SIR is being implemented.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, were also present at the meeting held at Indira Bhawan in New Delhi.

The Congress party issued a statement on X, saying, "In this meeting, the Congress Party has decided to hold a massive rally against SIR at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi in the first week of December. In this rally, we will expose the politicization of the Election Commission."

According to the statement, "Everyone's experience is that people are being targeted and their names are being deleted from the SIR. The Election Commission's policy will be adopted in other states as it did in Bihar. We have been raising questions about the SIR since before the Bihar elections."

The Congress party said that a nationwide signature campaign regarding the SIR has collected five crore signatures.
