Ayodhya experiencing massive crowds for New Year 2026, all hotels, guesthouses fully booked
The holy city of Ayodhya was almost completely booked even before the New Year-2026. Approximately one lakh devotees are visiting daily to have darshan of Ram Lalla. Around two lakh devotees are expected on December 31st and January 1st.
Hotels within Ayodhya and neighboring Faizabad are heavily booked \until at least mid-January 2026 due to the high New Year's rush and consecration events at the Ram Temple.

Dr. Anil Mishra, trustee of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, said that there will be no changes to the darshan and aarti arrangements for the New Year. 400 passes are issued daily in a two-hour slot, and these are already fully booked until January 1st.
The city has 150 large hotels, which are fully booked in advance until January 3rd. 80% of the guesthouses (dharamshalas) are also booked. The weather is very cold, so gas heaters have been installed along the roads.
All VIP passes for the Ayodhya Ram Temple are completely booked until January 1, 2026. Mishra said that the number of devotees visiting Ayodhya has been continuously increasing for the past month. Despite the large crowds, the darshan arrangements are running smoothly.
Second Anniversary of Pran Pratishtha Festival on Dec 31
The second anniversary of the Pran Pratishtha festival of Ram Lalla will be celebrated on Pratishtha Dwadashi, which falls on December 31st. The chief guests and hosts for this event will be Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
