Does the meeting between Priyanka Gandhi and Prashant Kishor hints at future strategies?
Following the electoral defeat in the Bihar assembly elections-2025, the alleged meeting between election strategist and founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, Prashant Kishor, and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has become a topic of discussion in political circles.
Although neither side has formally confirmed the meeting, it is being said that the two leaders discussed not only the political situation in Bihar but also in other states during their nearly two-hour meeting.
The meeting led to buzz over a renewal of ties between Congress, a party unable to challenge the BJP in elections, and a poll strategist with a reputation for leading parties to exactly those kind of victories.
Prashant Kishor is in favor of building a strong base for the Congress party in Bihar by forming an alliance, but some Congress leaders are unwilling to exclude the RJD from the alliance, keeping in mind their prior commitments to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.
It is also being discussed that the meeting included deliberations on how the Congress party could benefit from PK's strategic planning in the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Punjab.
It is also being speculated that PK may is keen to use his expertise in preparing political strategies for Congress after dismal performance of his party in Bihar.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, asked about the meeting, said, "Nobody is interested in who I meet... or who I don't", while PK flatly denied any meeting with the Congress leader.
Regardless, sources said there are 'possibilities', in view of both sides' poor performance in Bihar. The Jan Suraaj contested 238 Assembly seats and won zero, while the Congress won only six of 61, 13 fewer than last time.
