IND vs. SA T20 Series: Team India wins last T20, bags series 3-1
India has won the five-match T20 series against South Africa 3-1. The team defeated South Africa by 30 runs in the fifth match played on Friday. This is Team India's eighth consecutive series win.
In Ahmedabad, the Indian bowlers restricted South Africa, who were chasing a target of 232 runs, to 201 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Varun Chakravarthy took the highest wickets, claiming four. Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets. Quinton de Kock scored 65 runs off 35 balls.
Earlier, the Indian team scored 231 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs, thanks to half-centuries from Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya.
Tilak scored 73 runs off 42 balls, while Pandya played an innings of 63 runs off 25 balls. Sanju Samson scored 37 and Abhishek Sharma contributed 34 runs.
Pandya scores a fifty in 16 balls
Pandya completed his fifty in 16 balls. This is the second fastest fifty for India in T20 Internationals. The record for the fastest fifty for Team India is held by Yuvraj Singh (12 balls).
The Indian team had lost 3 wickets for 115 runs. At this point, Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya forged a 104-run partnership off 44 balls for the fourth wicket. Both scored half-centuries.
