Under-19 Asia Cup-2025: India, Pakistan to clash for title on Sunday
The Indian team has reached the final of the Under-19 Asia Cup. The team defeated Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in the semi-final on Friday. The final will now be played between India and Pakistan on Sunday.
The semi-final match was played at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai. The match could not start on time due to rain. It was later reduced to a 20-over-a-side match.
After losing the toss and batting first, the Sri Lankan team could only manage 138 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Chamika Heenatigala scored the highest with 42 runs. Kanishk Chauhan and Henil Patel took two wickets each for India.
India chased down the target, scoring 139 runs for the loss of two wickets in 18 overs. Vihaan Malhotra played an innings of 61 runs off 45 balls, while Aaron George scored 58 runs off 49 balls. Both wickets for Sri Lanka were taken by Rasith Neemasara.
Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in the semi-final
In the second semi-final, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 8 wickets. Now, India and Pakistan will face each other in the final. This will be the second match between the two teams in the tournament. India had defeated Pakistan by 90 runs in the league stage.
