Major portion of metro to be underground

Detailed discussions were held on finalizing the metro project routes. It was stated that even after revising the original proposal, problems persisted; therefore, it was suggested that the main portion of the metro be made completely underground. Dr. Yadav said that the state government would bear a financial burden of approximately Rs 900 crore for this.

Construction of elevated corridor to begin

CM said that the elevated corridor project is extremely important for Indore’s traffic system and that its construction should begin soon. He directed that technical experts and public representatives should soon meet to finalize the design regarding junctions, rotaries, and length of the corridor.

Expansion of Indore Metropolitan Region

It was decided to expand the Indore Metropolitan Region from a future perspective. By integrating Ujjain, Dewas, Dhar, Ratlam, Nagda, Badnawar, and Shajapur–Makshi areas, a metropolitan region of about 14,000 square kilometers will be developed.

CM said that this region, with more than five major railway junctions, one international airport, proposed future airports at Ujjain and Ratlam, the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor, and the Indore–Manmad railway line, would form the foundation to develop Indore as a major national hub for trade, industry, and tourism.

Startup Park and International Convention Center

It was decided to establish an international-level startup park and convention center near MR-10. This will make Indore the largest innovation center in Central India. Dr. Yadav said that the convention center should be developed on the lines of Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The indoor capacity will be 5,000 and outdoor capacity 10,000.

It was informed that the implementation of the Hukumchand Mill project will begin soon. The land has been registered in the name of the Madhya Pradesh Housing Board and transferred accordingly.
