Bhopal witnessed a record-breaking event on Sunday with the creation of the world's longest sandwich. The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) Bhopal prepared a sandwich measuring 269.9 feet long and approximately 8 inches wide. This massive sandwich was made in just 7 minutes and 26 seconds.

The entire event took place in the presence of a team from the Limca Book of World Records, and the record has been provisionally registered. Final approval is expected to take two to two and a half months.

A truly unique spectacle

The thought of a sandwich naturally makes one's mouth water, but the idea of the world's longest sandwich is even more intriguing. On Sunday, December 14, people in Bhopal witnessed the creation of a 269.9-foot-long and approximately 8-inch-wide sandwich, a truly unique spectacle.

Bread Joined with Edible Glue

According to Dr. Rohit Sarin, Principal of IHM Bhopal, this experiment is special not only for the city but also for the entire country. A 300-foot-long table was set up to make the sandwich. 24-inch-long bread loaves were joined together using a specially prepared edible glue to create a single, continuous piece of bread measuring 269.9 feet.

Focus on Taste and Variety

Maintaining the taste and quality of such a large sandwich was also a major challenge. It included three types of lettuce, capsicum, three types of bell peppers, olives, jalapeΓ±os, and about 5 to 6 types of spreads. The organizers claim that this is a unique and special world record.

Aim was to build confidence in students

Dr. Sarin says that the aim of this initiative was not just to set a record, but to instill confidence in the students and faculty that they can accomplish even seemingly impossible tasks. This "feel-good factor" will give a new direction to the students' creative skills and strengthen the spirit of teamwork.
