Sheopur: Sad news has come from Madhya Pradesh's Kumo National Park. A cheetah cub died in a road accident late Saturday night. It is reported that two cheetahs had crossed from Sheopur to the Gwalior district border. The forest department team has taken the cheetah's body into custody and sent it for a post-mortem examination. A case will be filed against the driver under the Wildlife Act.

The 10-month-old cub of female cheetah Gamini died on Saturday night near Ghatigaon, Gwalior. They were hit by an unknown vehicle. CCAF Uttam Sharma confirmed the cheetah's death. It is reported that the two cheetahs had crossed from Kuno National Park in Sheopur and reached the Gwalior district border. They had been in Dabra, Ghatigaon, and other areas of Gwalior for the past 15 days.

Negligence of the Tracking Team

This accident occurred due to the negligence of the cheetah trekking team. If proper monitoring had been done, the two cheetahs would not have lost their lives. The Forest Department claims to monitor cheetahs 24 hours a day, but each time a death occurs, the tracking team receives information hours after it occurs. If the team had been on the spot, they would have blocked the highway until the cheetah was removed from the highway.
