Maharashtra Civic Poll 2025 Results: Mahayuti alliance secures clear lead, what the results indicate
Maharashtra Civic Poll 2025 Results Live Updates: Results or trends for all 288 out of 288 seats in the Maharashtra Nagar Panchayat and Nagar Parishad elections have been declared. The Mahayuti alliance has secured a clear lead in these results, while the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has had to settle for a significantly smaller number of seats.
Looking at the party-wise figures, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged as the largest party in the Mahayuti alliance, winning 127 seats. The Shiv Sena secured 54 seats and the NCP won 37 seats. In total, the Mahayuti alliance has won 218 seats, demonstrating its strong position.
On the other hand, the Maha Vikas Aghadi's performance has been limited. The Congress party claimed the lead within the alliance with 31 seats, while the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) secured 9 seats and the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) won 7 seats. In total, the MVA won only 47 seats. Additionally, other parties and independent candidates secured 23 seats.
These results clearly indicate that the Mahayuti alliance has received strong public support in urban and semi-urban areas, with the BJP emerging as the dominant force. While the Congress led within the Maha Vikas Aghadi, the alliance as a whole performed much weaker compared to the Mahayuti. These results clearly reflect the direction of state politics and the political equations ahead of the upcoming municipal corporation and other major local body elections.
Today's results are being considered a semi-final for the state's next major political test: the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and 28 other municipal corporation elections.
