MP: Orchha to be developed as world-class tourist destination, integrated master plan to be prepared

Chief Secretary Anurag Jain has directed the concerned officials in Orchha to ensure that all projects are completed on time and with high quality, enabling Orchha to develop into a world-class tourist destination. He also directed the preparation of an integrated master plan for the economic and social development of Orchha.

Jain was inspecting various construction projects in the tourist town of Orchha on Sunday. He visited the temple in Orchha and visited the deity of Lord Shri Ram Raja Sarkar. He inspected the Jujhar Mahal and Hardaul Vatika. Jain advised that the vendor zone be constructed in a manner that facilitates tourist movement.

Jain also urged that an action plan be prepared for the Bundelkhand Cultural Festival, taking into account the Khajuraho Festival. He directed the preparation of a master plan for Orchha and ensuring the participation of local citizens in ongoing projects under the PPP mode, thereby providing them with employment. 

CS Anurag Jain also visited Kanchana Ghat and directed the completion of the new bridge construction project over the Betwa River as soon as possible. He directed that the operation of the pink toilets at Kanchana Ghat be given to self-help groups.

The Chief Secretary inspected Rai Praveen Mahal and Tulsi Ghat. He also visited the Jahangir Mahal. He did a detailed review of various construction and development works going on at Hotel Betwa Retreat, Shri Ram Raja Lok and Orchha.

CS directed that all hotels in the city be star-rated. Jujhar Singh Mahal should be developed along the lines of the Bundelkhand Cultural Center. Adventure sports should be promoted. Bundeli art, painting, and terracotta products should be marketed and branded and sold online. District officials and consultants were present on the occasion.
