PM arrives in Ethiopia, Ethiopian PM himself drove car for Modi; welcomed by Indian community
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ethiopia on Tuesday after his visit to Jordan. Modi was accorded warm welcome by the Indian community in Ethiopia.
PM received warm welcome by the Indian community at a hotel in Addis Ababa
Modi has arrived in Addis Ababa on his first bilateral visit to Ethiopia. On arrival at the airport, in a warm and special gesture, he was received by the Prime Minister of Ethiopia Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali and accorded a warm and colorful welcome.
India and Ethiopia share historical relations anchored in strong people-to-people ties. The special gesture by the Ethiopian leadership is reflective of the importance the two countries attach to each other as Global South partners.
After welcoming PM Modi at the airport, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali personally drove him to the city's Science Museum.
PM Modi posted on X, "After welcoming me at Addis Ababa Airport, Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali took me to the city's Science Museum. This museum showcases various aspects of science and innovation."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on an official visit to three countries. He arrived in Jordan on Monday, the first leg of his trip. After his visit to Jordan, PM Modi arrived in Ethiopia on Tuesday. He will also visit Oman.
