In the year 2020, the film “Raat Akeli Hai” was released on Netflix and received a good response from audiences. Now, five years later, its Part 2 has arrived, titled “Raat Akeli Hai – The Bansal Murders.” The film has a few connections to the first part, but even if you haven’t watched it, you won’t miss anything important.

Talking about the story, it revolves around the Bansal family, where multiple murders take place in a single night. After this, Jatil Yadav (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) enters the scene, and the investigation of the case begins, during which several layers are revealed. In the initial part itself, it becomes clear who committed the murder, but the case is far from simple.

Jatil wants to conduct an impartial investigation, but many issues come to the surface. The film also shows how the entire system works—or wants to work. To find out who the real killer is in the end, you’ll have to watch the film.

Nawazuddin brings Jatil Yadav’s character to life

When it comes to acting, Nawazuddin Siddiqui once again brings Jatil Yadav’s character to life. Throughout the film, he maintains an expression that clearly shows his dissatisfaction with how things are unfolding and that something is lacking in the investigation.

Apart from Nawaz, Chitrangda Singh proves why she is counted among the finest actresses. She plays her character with seriousness and depth. Rajat Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Akhilendra Mishra, Priyanka Setia, Deepti Naval, and Revathi also deliver strong performances. Radhika Apte has a smaller role this time, but she still retains her charm.

“Raat Akeli Hai – The Bansal Murders” is not a typical masala-filled film. Instead, it moves at a slow and steady pace and keeps you engaged. The editing could have been a bit crisper, though the cinematography is good. The screenplay and background score work well. Overall, we give this film four stars.
