Microsoft has announced a "major investment" to develop Artificial Intelligence (AI) in India. Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella shared this information in a post on Instagram.

Satya Nadella posted, "To support India's ambitions, Microsoft is committed to investing US$17.5 billion—our largest investment in Asia to date—to help build the infrastructure, skills, and capabilities needed for India's AI-first future."

Satya Nadella met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Following the meeting, he thanked PM Modi for discussing AI opportunities in India.
