Angry over the alleged approval of mining in the Aravalli Hills in Rajasthan, people protested on Monday. ​​Congress workers and members of social organizations clashed with the police at the Udaipur Collectorate. During the protest, the activists chanted slogans. Police also arrested some of the protesters. \

In Sikar, environmentalist Pawan Dhaka said, "If a person is removed from their home and their house is demolished, where will they go? A person might still be able to build a hut, but what will these animals and birds do?"

A demonstration was also held at Harsh Parvat, located at an altitude of 945 meters in Sikar.

In Alwar, Leader of the Opposition Tika Ram Jully said, "The Aravalli range is like the lungs of Rajasthan. This decision must be reversed, otherwise, the Congress will launch a fierce agitation."

Jully accused the government of attempting to destroy Rajasthan’s natural heritage and vowed continued resistance.

NSUI workers baton charged

In Jodhpur, NSUI (National Students' Union of India) workers climbed onto barricades during the protest. Police used batons to disperse the crowd.

Bhupendra Yadav rejects allegations

Regarding the Aravalli issue, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav said, "Stop spreading misinformation! Only 0.19% of the total 1.44 lakh square kilometers of the Aravalli range is eligible for mining. The rest of the Aravalli range is protected and safe."

Yadav has clarified the situation surrounding the Aravalli mountain range through a letter titled “Ek Patti Alwar Ke Naam.”

In the letter, he assured that the Aravalli range is completely safe and emphasised that the Supreme Court’s decision was taken by maintaining a balance between environmental protection, prevention of illegal mining, and developmental needs.

Bhupendra Yadav reiterated that the government remains fully committed to safeguarding the ecological balance of the Aravalli region while ensuring lawful and sustainable development.
